Or forget, depending on your POV.
Night one post-surgery is in the books. It was a rough one, since my wife hasn’t had any surgery in several years. Additionally, this involved her back, so she’s having issues with standing up and walking. As a result, I have to be there all the time to help her stand and walk to the bathroom, as well as everywhere else except for stairs.
She woke me up about every 2 hours to use the bathroom. One time, I must have been dreaming as I didn’t wake up immediately, and she hit me harder than she intended to (pretty sure), causing me to almost fall off my side of the bed. Needless to say, my sleep wasn’t quite as restful as I needed. I use a CPAP, which recorded 8 hours of sleep, but since it was so oft interrupted, it left me feeling tired for the remainder of the day.
I’m hoping tonight goes a little better, since it’s my last scheduled vacation day. If she’s still unsteady on her feet and uncomfortable with me going back to work, I may have to take more time off to get her back on the right side of it. I’m pretty sure that’s not going to go over well at my workplace, but they’re just going to have to deal with it. Family comes first.
